Gurnee Fire Department Junior Fire Academy

The Gurnee Fire Department Junior Fire Academy is a program designed for high school students interested in pursuing a career as a firefighter. Our academy provides hands-on training, workshops, and educational resources to prepare students for a future in firefighting. We are dedicated to shaping the next generation of firefighters by offering a comprehensive curriculum taught by experienced professionals.        Academy students will take part in a 7-week, educational academy that will cover a variety of topics involved in the firefighting profession. Each student will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in each topic. Throughout the course of the academy, students will have the opportunity to do a ride-along with the Gurnee Fire Department.
